This is Tawny Owl.
She is such a chatter box and is responsible for the common “ twit twoo “ we can hear.
However, although she has a lot to say, when her tummy starts to rumble, she turns into a deadly nighttime ninja, silently swooping on her prey when it’s dark.
She loves mice and other small rodents best. She’s also partial to small birds too.
She’s so good at hiding and being stealth like, that most people don’t realise how common these owls are - the most common owl species in the UK.
She lives in the open woodlands, but she says if you provide a suitable nesting area, 3-5 meters off the ground in a tree trunk, she will come and live in your garden.
As it is the end of March, she’s busy with breeding season at the moment. She’ll be on the lookout for a male, who are a lot smaller and lighter than she is.
She’s given me permission to paint her portrait - and to sell it too

Refunds will only be given within 7 days of receiving the art work if necessary, providing the art work is returned safely in it's original state and packaging. Postage costs to be covered by customer.
