I've done it, I've done it, I've done it. I have given up my day job. Well, almost. I handed my notice in to my day job, so I can concentrate on painting and drawing and being an artist. This easter, I am officially calling myself an artist, rather than a childminder. I'm not naive though. I know there is going to be a lot more to it than just being in my studio all day long "being an artist". I will also have to be a sales person, a promotor, an advertiser, a web designer, a... blogger (blogging increases SEO traffic to website, which will in turn, hopefully, drive more traffic to website, which will hopefully increase sales, which means I have to keep painting to replenish the many many paintings I will sell, yippee). Which reminds me, I will also be a student of .... wow, all the above; as well as many things I don't even know yet. I will however, still continue to be a mum of 3, a wife, a home maker and someone who needs to spend time with family and friends.
Not sure how I'm going to be fit all this in. But I am quite excited to get started on it all though. And I will talk you through everything I am learning and you can join me as I embark in my new adventure of being an artist. Hopefully I can help you learn a few things a long the way too on how to set up being a freelance artist yourself.
This is a photo of me, Lucia, owner of Paintings by Lucia. I am an artist (yay!!), based in Chippenham Wiltshire. My daughter Lilian likes to photo bomb photos of me.
Have a look at my website and let me know what you think. Also, if there is anything you think I will need to know, or that I could write about, just let me know. I'm sure I'll get stuck for ideas at some point!
