I am inspired by people and animals. I am interested in the way they behave and their thoughts. My art has taken on a life of its own recently, following a path of exploration into portraiture, wild life and nature, and also different media and combinations of media within one painting. Images of this work can be found in my gallery, as well my Facebook and Instagram pages. Follow me on social media for regular updates to my painting journey

My paintings are mainly in watercolour which will come to you mounted and in a plastic sleeve. I love the freedom I have when I paint with watercolour. Water has a life of its own and I enjoy the slow process of layering up the colours of water to see the final results. Some of my work is in acrylic. I feel less free when I paint with acrylic, and enjoy concentrating on the details.
Prints (a5 and a4) and digital copies (up to a4 size) are available too. I will add these to my Etsy shop soon, or feel free to message me directly, as I am always happy to talk and advise.

I can post straight to you in 1 - 2 days, free postage, if you are within the UK. Times may change if outside the UK and postage cost will apply. I can also post to a different address, if it is for a gift, and add a personalised note for you. Again, just message me with details.

If for any reason you are unhappy with the painting, I will give you a full refund if you can return the painting in the same standard as I have sent it to you, with the secure and protective packing.

If you are interested in having a painting painted for you personally, then please send me a message. I am always looking for more inspiration and ideas for painting, so all suggestions welcome!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How much does it cost to get my pet painted?
Short answer is, it depends. Prices start from £125 for an A5 size, but you can go as big and spend as much as you'd like. If you have a budget, I can tell you what I can do for you within that.
Please refer to the pricing page for more information about pricing

What sizes can I have?
Watercolour paintings, which are on paper, come in A5, A4 or A3 size as standard. You can have bigger, but A3 is usually big enough for most people (when you take into account frame size).
Framing obviously makes the overall piece a lot bigger and will need to be taken into consideration if you've got somewhere specific you'd like to hang the painting.

Acrylic Paintings come on a canvas. These come in standard sizes of A4, A3, 18x24" 24x36". These are my standard sizes because I have these in stock. However, it is easy enough to order a different size, including square or circular.

The A4 is a nice size if you want a small intimate and meaningful nod to your furry friend, or if you are limited for space. A3 is the most popular choice. That and 18x24" are a more centre piece kind of size, but this completely depends on where you are you planning on hanging the painting of course.

How should I submit photos of my pet for the portrait?
To ensure an accurate representation, please email me some photos of your pet. While one main image is preferred, additional photos capturing different angles and expressions help in creating a more detailed and personalised portrait.
How do I choose the right photo for my pet's portrait?
You can choose a head and shoulder pose or opt for a more dynamic pose like running or playing. Scroll through your favourite pet photos to find those that best capture their personality. If you're unsure, feel free to email the photos you have, and we can discuss the options together.

What are the photo requirements for the portrait?
For the best results, ensure the photo is of good quality and clarity to showcase as much detail as possible. If you're uncertain about the photo quality, send it anyway, and I'll provide feedback.

Can I use a printed photo for the portrait?
While a photo of a photo might not be ideal, you can mail me a printed photo. Contact me for the appropriate mailing details.
What if I have more than one pet?
I can work from multiple photos if you want to include more than one pet in the painting. Ensure the photos are taken from similar angles, such as all from eye height.

How long does it take to complete a pet portrait?
The usual turnaround time is 3 weeks, though it may vary based on my schedule. If framing is required, it could extend the duration. If you have a specific deadline, please let me know.
What is the payment process?
Once we agree on the painting's price, a 50% deposit is required before I commence work. I'll share photos of the almost finished painting for your input. The remaining payment can be made upon completion or as per a mutually agreed-upon timeframe.
Payment options include bank transfer ideally or Paypal (Paypal may incur additional charge). Payment plans are available upon request.
